speaking of files, a guy posted an attempt at grabbing all of archives.thebbs.org. with just looking a little i see it's missing some that are on the site now.

anyways, as i said before whats good about that site is you can list the descriptions and download the files.

i uploaded it to vert.

Okay, I read backwards. You pulled the bbsarchives.zip file from archives.thebbs.org and it was almost 2GB. I doubt that's everything. Is it? Don't get me wrong, if it has everything from the past, I'm down to host the whole damn thing. :)

some guy posted on reddit and then deleted the post.
it's on the internet archive.

read this:

+ it's nothing special and most people have these files
+ it's not the entire collection of files. i've spoken to pcmike and he has more than a measly 1.8gigs it doesn't have "everything from the past"

+ there was someone who posted something like this years ago and this just might be something someone played with and added to.

it doesnt need to be hosted someplace. please dont be a dickhead and put a site up hosting it. someone already did that with the bbsfiles.com siterip i posted.

i can understand why pcmike stopped letting people download all of his stuff via ftp. dickheads would just grab it all and put up their own site and not give credit.

if you want files to download and then host on your own, just go to cd.textfiles.com and grab a bunch of junk. and download some simtelnet stuff.
you'll have more old stuff than this little archive.

now i see that there's one from april that says this:

"Archive of the archives at thebbs.org

The only missing files were 404s are the source.

One of my greatest petpeaves is not giving attribution where it is needed.

if you want files to download and then host on your own, just go to cd.textfiles.com and grab a bunch of junk. and download some simtelnet stuff. you'll have more old stuff than this little archive.

Good suggestion. I've got a couple NVMe drives just dying to be filled. LOL
