When I check nodelist 109 (obtained from a Z1 site just in case
it's a Z3 thing) I find that although there is a net 2320 there
is no node 100, nor any sign of Mr Prunty anywhere in that
nodelist

The nodelist I happen to have at hand is 039 (dated Feb 8, 2019),
and it shows Mr. Prunty as NC227 and NC2320, and the sysop of
1:2320/1, 2320/100, 2320/101, 2320/102, and 2320/103. The /100 is
marked as Down, and /101 as Hold, but /102 and /103 show normally.
That may all be irrelevant, as it's a little bit outdated, but not
too much. Perhaps try netmailing the /102 and /103.

Nodelist 109 is from a few days ago.

2320/102 and 103 don't grok either.
