French is widely spoken in many parts of the world, including
Europe. Even though at present there are no sysops in France.

Does that make me "the spokesperson for the French?" Of course not.

All who write Cyrillic should be welcome to participate in their
own language of choice, not by any language dictated by the Fidonews
editor.

All who write French should also be welcome to participate in their
own language of choice.

In the USA, there is only one language that is spoken coast-to-coast.
That language is not English, but ASL. Should those who write in
sign be disallowed from participating? Of course, the editor would
have to make some changes, such as upgrading his system to be able
to display the Gallaudet font ...
