Since the old echomail archive site now down after a long run, is the
data still available and is there any interest in keeping it going?
If so, let me know and I will attempt to bring it online (with the
help of the previous owner if possible).

One of the pros of Fidonet is thet it is NOT the InterNet. I want what
I write in Fidonet to stay in Fidonet, not readable by anyone and indexable by Google and other search engines.

I can only repeat what I said a couple of month ago. I
always had mixed feelings about Ozzmosis. One of the pros
of Fidonet is thet it is NOT the InterNet. I want what I

So please let it rest in peace.
Cheers, Michiel

Although sometimes it was convenient to be able to use ozzmosis in
the past, I agree with your statement!

I see this as progress and a great way to provide a glimpse of Fidonet
to the masses.

All of the webbased presentations, including ozzmosis, lack one key element: Search. Without it, a bit more manual labour is required to
step through the messages to find anything. The convenience was limited.
Ozzmosis did not have a search. Other web based sites do. I often use Doc's Place (bbs.fisosysop.org) to check on messages. It has a search function. One can search based on (partial) from/to/subject/ or body, including combinations of those fields. OTOH, the message base does not go back anywhere as far as ozzmosis did. A quick test tells me that he has about three years of this echo.
