Tom Seaver, one of baseball's all-time greats,
By now, I guess you know that baseball is regarded as a girly sport over here in Europe? That's the sport girls had to play while the boys played football.
The real thing, not the strange version of rugby on steroids that 4%
of the world call football. You know, playing a ball (ball) using your feet (foot) -- does that ring a bell...?

Baseball is an international game. Not just played in the USA.
Cubans love it. Japanese love it. Koreans love it. Venezuelans
love it. Puerto Ricans love it. Even Canadians love it.

Yes, it is an international sport. Baseball doesn't get much publicity, yet
there are still at least 2 ball parks in this city of 100,000 people that I
know of. I'visited both, though not for baseball - one was used as an open
space for some marching practice, the other is adjacent to parkland used annually in local cross country races.
Still, that pales in comparison to the number of soccer fields (several) or
AFL/cricket (most are dual purpose) ovals, of which there are more than a dozen.

Sporting events without fans is not any fun for fans. Whether it is tennis, or football, or baseball, or any other sport. Same thing for music. How can one enjoy a music concert without fans? Just not the
same without others there to share the experience.
All those big beautiful stadiums. With no fans allowed. Athletes
competing live on television. With nobody around to cheer or boo.
Except coaches and trainers.

Huh? You've gone off on some tangent (I might want some of that shit you're
smoking ;P ).

That's another issue, and one I don't care to discuss or be distracted by.

So is smoking, among certain groups.

Really? Here are some of your own words -

People are social creatures, and are not hermits. People will find
ways to interact with other people. That is the human condition, and
is who we are. Basic human nature. "No man is an island unto himself" means exactly what the words mean.
