    Hola Benny!

have to get it into a pi desktop finaly soon with MSata ssd drive

Sounds like fun. I've managed to get this one booting to 2.5" laptop drives hooked up to powered usb adapters. At the moment it is using the onboard microSD interface for booting. I still have work to do on it but as is it is looking good.

    -={ '<Esc>:read !uname -a' ends }=-

I am still using the rpi-4.14.y kernel source. I had some hardware issues with

standard source but it might work now that I have a better understanding of the

raspi3b+. However at the moment I am upgrading the main x86_64 box to glibc-2.29 which just came out yesterday so this will have to do until the dust

    settles on that upgrade.

    Hola Benny!

i orderen one today, have to get it into a pi desktop finaly
    soon with MSata ssd drive

    I am currently booted to the onboard µSD card (aka /dev/mmcblk0) with the latest upgrades listed below;

    -={ '<Esc>:read !uname -a' starts }=-
    Linux armando 4.20.6-raspi3b+ #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 7 21:48:15 UTC 2019 aarch64 GNU/Linux
    -={ '<Esc>:read !uname -a' ends }=-

Note that the above kernel is built from linux-rpi-4.20.y source and not the stock kernel source from kernel.org. I do plan to try stock kernel source in the near future but will boot that to a 2.5" laptop drive and/or a usb flash drive. Speaking of which I've never seen a MSata ssd drive for raspberrypi's.

Is this something that can use a usb mounted mSata adapter? As of this writing

I have never seen a mSata adapter for the raspi3b+ I am using to write this message from.

wish it was me, tryed indstlling berryboot, and in that tryed installing debian, but it fails, since i need 5V/5A psu now, hope to see element14 create one

no its a hardware device on top of the pi with rtc and msata port

    Hola Benny!

    with is standard microsd ?

Yes. It is a branded 32G Sandisk. Works okay but is very slow. The 2.5" laptop drive(s) on powered hub adapter are noticeably faster when doing writes despite them being limited speedwise to the USB2 interface. I suspect msata will be the same as laptop drives when using a msata to USB adapter. It would be
nice to see a future raspberry pi with a native msata controller chip.

its a hardware device on top of the pi with rtc and msata port

Excellent. The rtc is definetly a desirable option. I have a rtc and dc power

input on a addon hat. I haven't used the DC input yet but the rtc is what I bought it for. I wouldn't bother booting up the raspi3b+ without it.

since i need 5V/5A psu now

I am using a 5V/3.5A as we speak but plan to wire it straight into the 12VDC soon.
