I have the same problem reading Chinese "light" novels, Wuxia and Isekai etc which often bleeds over onto LitRPG. It's odd, this genre borrows heavily from Chinese and Russian authors and traditions. I don't think you're quite aware of the audience for this discussion BTW which goes out onto FidoNet, which is almost 50% carried by Russian hosts.. as is the server this Telegram chat uses for the gateway which is, I think, in the Crimea. Is that right @BroRabbit ?

Nope I wasn?t. There was no offense intended. It?s usually difficult to get into books originally written in a different language. The ease is missing. You have to work harder. Which is usually great unless you have porridge brain like me ?. Sometimesim just too tired to push through and fall back on trite and light.

No worries about offence. It is what it is. I have no issues about some from from whatever country except when they try to write as if they're a native of say the US and don't have clue one.

The Russian audience over Fidonet probably patronize a vast majority of echos in their own language. I do however wonder how they use it: operating their own BBSes + GoldEd? or.. as points?

True enough. If you look at development of the various tools I've the past decade or two, it's been mostly Russian
