After Robert Jordan I?m loathe to read a series until it?s finished! Especially since he had the gall to die before finishing it ??

Along the same lines... George RR Martin seems to be taking his sweet ol' time on the "conclusion" of the Song of Ice and Fire series (also known as the Game of Throne series). Mr Martin is not exactly a fine physical specimen of a healthy-looking man. Meanwhile, I notice that some new books that other authors are putting out will have an RR Martin endorsement! Is RR Martin is procrastinating by reading other people's books? :/

I have the same fears. And he definitely lost his way in the last book

And at least Jorgan let somebody else to finish his work.
Nowadays I don't get started with a series unless it has been finished. It is
not worth the risk.
When I was a kid and my English was bad, the risk was even worse, because I
could only read books in my native language. What would happen is local publishers would start translating a series and decide by the middle of the
road it was not profitable. At that point I would have read half the series,
and the rest of the series would exist in Engl?ish only - and thus be unreadable for me.
This is actually the reason why I bothered to learn some Engllish. To be able
to bypass the publishers of my rotten country.

I have the same fears. And he definitely lost his way in the last bookI abbandoned the Song of Ice and Fire ship when it became doubtful it would end
a satisfying end.
I think Martin himself has said he does not write with a plan in mind, which is
a red flag if the series run for long. There is simply not a plan to finish
them.
Incidentaly, this is the reason why I structured The Worth of Immortality series the way they are. Every story is self contained so it does not matter if
the Nazi Communisis get me before I finish the series. If only half of the stories are released, those can be read and enjoyed on their own.

I am in awe of anyone who learns to eas English. It?s a bizarre language. What?s your native tongue?

English is not that bad. There is a limited number of verb forms and no weird
declinations. It is also a very compact language. The downside is it is also a
vague language. I certainly think it is easier than something like French or
(gasp) German.

Perhaps his idea of a plan is different from our perspective.
The relationships between the various characters across the
different lands and families is immense. I can't imagine
someone keeping all that straight in their heads if they don't
have a plan - or a whiteboard!

A whiteboard or a set of whiteboards is precisely how you go about it.
I usually store loads and loads of notes for ideas before I even get started writing
anything beyond 10 000 words. Otherwise it is very easy to make mistakes specially if
you are writing something which is long-running (as in you write something today, and
the next thing 5 years later) XD
And yes, I plan to send the magazine to hell tomorrow and enable access to High Tech
Necromancy sometime tomorrow.

I'd be happy to help you self publish if you'd like. I can create a very good epub in a very short time and we could get it up on Kindle.
