    Book recommendation

Not LITRPG per se but ...

Today's shoutout goes to Graydon Saunders's Commonweal novels again. They start with "The March North", which is very much a by-the-tropes military fantasy novel in plot that has an extremely unusual and delightful setting reminiscent of the Black Company. They continue with a sorcery school novel, a fish-out-of-water unicorn romance, and then back to military fantasy and logistics. Egalitarian fantasy with battle-sheep and bad, bad odds; a civil engineering manual lost in a fairytale, or possibly a fairytale lost in a civil engineering manual.

I'm still working on "..Big Chests" and "Monroe"!

BTW.. the Saunders books only seem to be ebook products.

I could share a LOT of thoughts, actually. But my ereader is
informing me that Monroe is only 11% in (118 of 995), and Big
Chests is 1%. So, I should tackle some more before I comment.

The short chapters in Monroe work for me - I can manage 2 each
    night.

As you know, this is my first foray into the litrpg genre.

I still haven't reached the part where Monroe enters the scene.
I'm pretty anxious about that. Will he end up being a talking
    cat? That might be funny.

I didn't get The Wandering Inn transferred to my new device -
yet. But I've got enough alternate material to flip between
    on my ereader:

Diary of a Bookseller - Bythell
My Struggle: Book One - Knausgaard
    The Angel's Game - Zafon
The Eye of the World - Jordan
The Fantasies of Robert A. Heinlein - Heinlein
Have Space Suit, Will Travel - Heinlein.
Only Time Will Tell - Archer
    Islandia - Wright.
    Altered Genes - Kelly
    Call of Courage - Gockel/Murphy/Pax/Wahrer/Gould/Reher/Kuzara

    Ok. Fair enough.

The Feline Overlord has no problem making his desires known without actual _speech_... ;-)

The Fantasies of Robert A. Heinlein - Heinlein
That's an odd one. I would have gone with "Starship Trooper" first. "Stranger in a Strange Land" next.

Have Space Suit, Will Travel - Heinlein.
    Good one.

    Enjoy the reading...

Sounds good. I've noticed the author style describing what the
character is thinking. The "system" they are in also seems to
allow communicating similar to how data might flow between
    devices, or something like that.

litrpg is definitely for the gamer or someone with a tech
    background at heart.

Peirs Anthonys worlds seem close to that, except there is more
magic as well as certain "rules" that the worlds operate under.

I just grabbed that one and its there waiting for me. I haven't
    started it yet.

    Good one.

I'm about a handful of chapters into it.

    Enjoy the reading...

I still have a bunch of other titles loaded in Calibre which I
haven't moved over to the ereader yet.

There is definitely no shortage of material to read. I have to
    curb the distractions though.

Yeah.. what's interesting is how different author's deal with that. You've started with a "system" style. There are others which draw more heavily from the "cultivation" style.. which sortof/kindof are LITRpg.. Some combine the two.
I tend to end up slipping over most of the tables and data... there are some guys who obsess about it.. some so much that they run spreadsheets to track the stuff..

I still have a bunch of other titles loaded in Calibre which I

Such a cool situation to be in :-)

I'm zipping through the tables and "system messages" too. I
had a compulsion to hope for some kind of reference for the
various skils and exceptions, but I quickly learned to stop
thinking about that so that I could get ahead in the story!

And.. I have a modest pile of physical books next to the
