I've dived into this series (it's a freebie after all) and at first blush it looks like a pretty good story. There is some awkwardness in the writing which indicates quite clearly that the author isn't an English 1st language speaker, but it's trivial enough stuff that it's easy enough to ignore.
I'll see how the story develops, but so far so good.
