    Hi All...

I subscribe to a few publisher newsletters, and at least one of them occassionally announces eBooks at at substantial discount. I got one today boasting that I qualified for a FREE ebook! It looked really promising until I read and re-read the "good news":

"Have a good read?it?s on us.

    "Free eBook

"Since you like to read as much as we do, we thought you?d like to choose a free ebook from a list of our favorite new releases and bestsellers. Redeem your offer below at Glose.com and read on any browser-enabled device with an internet connection, or you can download the free Glose mobile app and read at any time.

So.. the book is not exactly a pdf nor a .epub, and is only readable online (requiring a live internet connection) and/or readible using their own app.

Will it come to the point that we will need an app for every publisher?!?!?!?

    NO THANKS!

    Ciao!

Well, movies and videogames already use that exact business model. You have to sign up to a provider and you can only use the stuff through their platform. It is only a matter of time before they try to make it widespread in bookworld too.
