Yes, but the TracFone lady should have had it occur to her... I'm sure
you weren't the first customer that had done a similar thing.... unless
she was a very new hire...

Yup, you've told that one before... it's a good one... :) Apparently
she doesn't pay attention to the signs and markings.... or thought she
could bluff her way out of a ticket....
Those are more likely to be accurate than the intersection photo
tickets... as long as they don't get doctored...
Well, I HAD told you which shopping area, and which end of the little plaza.... but I'll admit that unless you do know the area, it's easy to
not see the two restaurants at the near end as you approach from the north.... Point being that you did get there, and we did connect... :)

IIRC I even spoke to a supervisor.
Oftentimes a problem is a minor one that is over looked then
followed by a face palm and "duh!" :)
One time I had problems with my first laptop that wouldn't shut
down. I took it to the computer hospital the next day with the guy saying, Hold this button down and it'll go off. Duh.
A neighbour of mine has whined and cried for months his phone (a relatively new one) wasn't connecting to any wifi and that it was the fault of the cable company, even though his laptop would connect.
(We each have a PW router, and Comcast offers PW wifi away from home
as well as free wifi downtown*).
I kept telling him the problem was with his phone, if everything
connected but his phone.
He finally went to the cable office and the woman made some minor
change, it worked and he's happy now.
(*At the game Friday I was showing this one fella it was streaming
free on FB and managed to get the free city wifi signal. As a test I walked away when I hit a certain area it stopped, but backing up it was
on again. I was right on the edge of the signa
I had never seen anything like that before.
It was like getting a radio signal at Point A but Point B a few feet
away is no signal.
And it was a strong signal, not fading in and out.)

If the individual could prove they had a hang tag, even if not
visible, the ticket was dismissed with a warning to make sure it was visible. If one were visible in some way I let it go. It was
supposed to be hanging up but if on the dash, etc. they got a pass.
Maybe a warning to hang it up.

Those photo's cut out of a lot of those "but I have one/it wasn't
marked" excuses.
One time I kept getting this one car without a parking permit but
only with a hang tag. It is clearly marked you need both. (Unless at
a meter or other pay lot).
One day I was closing in on that lot and this girl came running
across the street and got in the car. (She was in shorts and had
strong legs like a track star).
I stopped her as she exited (she hadn't seen me before) and told
her she didn't appear handicapped to me and next time I saw her she was getting a HC ticket if on any lot unless she could prove that tag was hers. (Students used granny's tag a lot).
From then on she parked elsewhere.
I don't know what became of the tickets she owed.
There were times talking to a repeat violator I would say something
like "Well Mr/Ms" and they would reply "Smith" or whatever and get a
last name. That was used to get their name and link them to the
ticket. The office could check the persons schedule and if someone
had a class at a certain time on certain days and the tickets matched
up, it was a good guess that was the person. It was esp. good if they
had out-of-state plates. The odds of someone named Smith

The city people make sure enough of the vehicle in question is shown
to prove its the same car for a closer shot of the expired meter.
Almost all our meters are electronic with flashing green for good or
red for expired.
And in case one doesn't have change, they accept debit/credit cards.
I only wish Marshall had those. Maybe some day.

Yep, that was the important thing. And I was on time. :)

(something got chopped there after Smith, I think) Yes, computers can
make connecting the dots a lot easier... :)
Yup... :) And we did have a good lunch, and a good time... :)

I may have mentioned this before.
When I was 10/11/12 I was in the back yard and a storm was coming in
from the south. Dark black clouds along a line of clear summer sky.
Then a wall of rain advancing.
I watched as it hit the dirt throwing dust in the air as it steadily approached, hit me and moved on.
I was fascinated by that.

We had a none too bright football player (but I repeat myself) who complained he shouldn't have to pay the hundreds of dollars in fines
he had racked up since the car was registered in his grandmothers name.
I guess it was the old girl coming from a distant state every day
moving that car around.

It was something along the lines of cross referencing on the
computer people from that state named Smith who were students with that plate number. And if the car were registered to Mr/Mrs John Smith of
123 Main St and a student named John/Mary Smith of 123 Main St of that town is a student its a good bet its that person.
After three tickets (for any violation from a $2 meter to $100 HC)
they were placed on financial hold. They could do nothing involving
money with the university (register for class, get a
diploma/transcript, etc) until that was settled.
Even after verbal warnings there was much weeping and gnashing of
teeth at the end of the semester.
Athletes (who generally thought because they could catch or throw a
ball) were above the law and that "coach'll take care of it" found out later that wasn't the case.
I recall one ball player who always told me the coach would take
care of his tickets and laugh about them break down in literal tears
when he found no the coach wasn't taking care of those and he had to
pay. And then scramble around trying to get the money
We never embarrassed anyone by withholding anything at graduation.
They were still called to the stage and handed a folder, which was
empty. Sometimes people would slip through the cracks and years later either request a transcript or take another class only to find those
old tickets were still on the books and needed to be paid.
The fine did not increase over time.
Yup... :) And we did have a good lunch, and a good time... :)
And it was good meeting you and Jim. Or as I often like to say,
"Glad you got to meet me". :)
