If the company is large enough (such as chain's) raising the price
of the goods/services a few pennies might not be noticed by the
consumers. But smaller, mom-and-pop places (what few seem to be left)
have a more difficult time for sure.
One example I can think of us our electric company, AEP.
WV charges a "business and occupancy" (B&O)tax.
On my bill is listed the amount of electric used, etc. along the B&O
tax. So in my bill I am paying my amount of the B&O tax they are
charged, thus they "pay" no tax, its passed along and rather upfront
about it.
