I've been here in this echo before, but it was many years ago. I
*think* I popped in here with a post a few times around 2000 to 2003,
but I can't confirm. But I did spend most of the time lurking.

I do believe my mom contributed a few posts every now and then, but I can't find evidence of that now. For a period of years, I set her up

ago), but then I learned you were in the hospital.

I probably responded once I got home... ;) Perhaps that was in 2005
when I broke my ankle....?

Yes. Full name would have shown up in the echos as "Vija Abolins".

I guess my memory isn't quite as sharp as it used to be... ;)

I didn't realize that it "moved to the web". It still seems to be a fairly active fidonet echo from what I can tell.

I was talking about the Genealogy echoes moving to the web... there
isn't really anything happening in those Fidonet echoes anymore... I
still have them tagged, just in case, and rarely has there even been any messages left there.... I generally would answer anyone that did show
up, just on general friendly principles... ;)

Yes.. 2005 sounds about right. My fidonet journey ended in 2006,
after my main pc crashed. All the echomail history is probably unrecoverable. I still have the original harddrive (but it is OS/2 format) Before the pc crashed, the harddrive was already making a lot
of clicking noises.

How sad... so now you are getting yourself back into the echoes
again.... :)
