Very wise... :) It also keeps you in touch with your support
systems... a very good thing at this point... :)
I've gotten a lot of support from the folks in ham radio, square
dancing, and in the message areas on the BBS...mainly from other
networks. I don't have many local callers though, but the BBS is part
of my diversional therapy. Another BBS in the area is having a picnic
at an area park in early September...and I plan on going.
That is indeed a comfort... and a nice providence for you... :)
I know I'll be "recompensed at the resurrection of the just", but
that's the least of my worries right now. 2 1/2 years ago, I cancelled
a trip to Orlando for a ham radio event, as my Mom was having a
pacemaker put in, and I felt it better to stay home with her. I have to
go to Heart Clinic Arkansas on Monday, and get a "return kit" to send
the measuring device back to the manufacturer...at least it's prepaid
on shipping.
Hopefully that will be soon.... and better already... :)
While the cold weather makes my arthritis hurt more, it means no
insects, no heat illness, and no tornadoes.
... Humor is an acronym for "HUman Management Of Reality"
As Roger Rabbit noted "If you don't have a sense of humor, you're
better off dead!!".
Besides, without me in here as comedy relief, Joe Mackey would be
bored stiff. <g,d,r>

Good idea. :)
Good that they make it fairly easy to return it... one more detail to NB>deal with, though...

Tradeoffs... ;)

I suppose.... ;)

Unfortunately, the Sysop of the BBS has to work...so the deal got CANCELLED...figures.

I dropped it off on the way to the funeral home.

I've come close to heatstroke several times, been stung by insects
on the lip and elsewhere, and been under 2 funnel clouds, plus within a mile of 2 rain wrapped tornadoes. I'm wanting some calmer weather, especially with milder temperatures.

Oh, that's a shame... might it get rescheduled....?

Too bad so many people don't see it that way... ;)

I haven't heard. I unfriended all my Facebook friends (over
500...some have friends in the thousands), and unjoined most all the groups and pages. I was getting all these messages to "share this", and "malware links".

It's rare I'm up before 9am...unless it's for medical reasons, or
another emergency. Of course, nature always calls at the most
inopportune time.
And that was only contact you had with that Sysop...? You don't call
his BBS...? I've never been on Facebook, so haven't had to deal with
any of that.... thankfully...
Yeah... a couple times a night sometimes for me... Sundays I have to be NB>up before 9, if I'm playing for the morning service, even earlier (to be NB>out of the house by about 8) so that I can practice first... otherwise,
I don't make appointments for early, and neither of us gets up much NB>before 10 or so... often later, especially Richard when he hadn't gone
to bed until the wee hours... :) Emergencies and medical procedures, NB>though, do change things....
My days in the choir, etc. are long gone. After a friend I had helped
had apparently spread lies about me (they found her dead in her kitchen
2 years ago, from a suicide or heart attack)
So many now are more like entertainment shows, rather than worship services.
Hmm, where is Lt Colombo when you need him???
Depends on the church.
But then we are drifting into forbidden territory...

He is in the area...so we still email and text each other. He
telnets in every so often. I'm to meet him Sunday at Denny's in west Little Rock for lunch at 11am...the only Denny's left in the area.

Christians are the only army that "buries their wounded". :(
I'm "old fashioned" for church things, and so much else. So many now

Ah... hope that went well... did you ask him why the picnic was NB>cancelled...? :)
That's a shame.... I looked in our denomination's directory to see if we NB>had any churches in your area, but we don't... otherwise I'd suggest you NB>try that...
... If I made myself clear, let me know and I'll start over.

Well, he originally thought he'd have to work. At the last minute,
the day before, a co-worker called, saying "I need some hours". Well,
he got the day off after all, but it was too late to reschedule the picnic.
An old laptop computer I had bought nearly 10 years ago (it had
Windows Vista Basic on it) was able to get Windows 7 on it, but the install of Windows 10 crashed 85% into it. So, I'm giving him the
laptop to wipe the drive, along with a power supply, a USB mouse, and a mouse pad, for free. He said he may put Linux on it.
