Well, duh. There is "election" of the Pope and never has.
The Church just does it more "softly".
I actually stopped caring what the Pope says/does/etc. a long time ago
and I see no reason today to change that.

Human are made to read patterns.
And by "soft" I mean that they "encourage" that we give up all our thinking to the church "elders" and treat dissadents like wayward children. As opposed to the Elitists of today who want to pass laws to take all our rights away.
I'm a Christian, and I go to a Catholic Church, but I'm not a fan of Papal leadership or of any church leadership that goes beyond the father(s) at the churches.
I didn't like the propagandist messaging that came from Pope Francis pertaining to the USA's reluctance to accept migrants, and I didn't like how Catholic Charities (during his reign) funded attorneys who advocated for illegal immigration into the USA.

Are you catholic? I hope you do not participate in The Eucharist with that wishy-washy description of your faith
Once again, I sincerely hope you're not taking communion. When speaking
on matters of faith and ethics, the pope is infallible, being the direct successor of St. Peter.
Perhaps you should find a different Church to attend if you are not Catholic, as such blasphemy could surely lead to your excommunication, otherwise.

The weirdest thing happened yesterday, just as we're in the midst of
this conversation:
Yesterday's mass at my church was focus on sheephood. The father said
we are sheep and God is our shepherd. Then he said that children are
sheep and parents are their shepherds. Then he said Catholics are sheep and the church leaders are our shepherds. But then he said "the pope is our shepherd and we are his sheep." (That last part didn't sit well.)

None of it sat well with me since it all smacks of ownership and slavehood.
You are correct. And there are some clues that are too obvious for us to ignore.
Chosen is correct. Pope Leo XIV was chosen by God, through the prayers
of the faithful and the ballots cast by the sacred college of cardinals.
Perhaps you should find a different Church to attend if you are not Catholic, as such blasphemy could surely lead to your excommunication, otherwise.
Or, maybe this entire religion thing is just a pile of crap made up to control the people.

I'm definitely not, But I spent a dozen years in Catholic schools with daily relgious classes. I also taught night classes for children prior
to their First Communion and First Confession. I'm not an expert in Catholic dogma, but I'm confident I know more than most Catholics.

I suggest you talk to your priest about that. And if he has no idea what you're speaking of, I'm sure the bishop at your diocese will. I'd

Papal infalibility is part of Catholic dogma. Denying Catholic dogma, according to the Catholic Church is a grave sin (specifically, the sin of heresy).

Yea it was ridiculous. And the choir sang psalm 100 - We Are His

The church is taking advantage of the psalm and hacking it into "Obey

If that's not disgusting enough, then what's worse is how the media is
now acting like it's cool to be Christian when they always hated us
prior to this pope getting hired. Now that they have one of their employees in charge of the Vatican, they won't shut up about him.

Religion is just a vehicle for your relationship with God. You don't

You can't be catholic *and* woke... God is a man and is white with blue eyes. What are you talking about?
Well, churches are the same way. The older crowd gave the money, so they needed to cater to them. But that style turned off the younger crowd who didn't go when they got old enough to make that decision.
As a result, many churches are trying to appeal to that younger crowd.
But all that hides that fact that they are just as Elitist as the Democrats.
And, IMHO, just as infiltrated as the universities by the Wokies.
Aaron Thomas wrote to Dr. What <=-
I don't remember Bill Knapps, but I get it. The Catholic Church was probably trying to appeal to older people during Trump's first term,
but have since figured out that it's the younger generation that has
more money.
I got talked into going to a mega-church for a "ceremony" (I'm not going to call it "Mass") and thought I was at a live variety show with all the singing and guitar playing.
Money is part of it. But it's more along the lines of, if they can't get younger people to join the church, their membership will die off - literally. And the church dies off too.

You're right, but still similar to smoking. I left a few things out: it irritates others, it leaves a stink in their hair and on their clothes,
it enriches Democrats, it has mascots, it's advertised as a leisurely activity for young people, and it leads to many, many deaths.
But OTOH, ashtrays smell better than leftists, they're easier to clean, and cigarettes are smarter and more sophisticated.
That would help, but ultimately I think we need protection for donors; they should always know exactly what their donation will be used for.

It is... I was not always pro-life... I am flexible on some of my thinking... If there is a need for one have it early and not during the
day of delivery.
As for the Death Penalty comment... I think there room for this. If
crimes are heinous enough you got to go!!!!
Eye for an Eye... Exodus 21:24, Leviticus 24:20, and Deuteronomy 19:21.
It mandated that punishments fit the crime, designed to restrain excessive vengeance, rather than encourage personal retaliation. <-- Google Search
to get the result I knew.
I have opinions, I have 3 daughters, I'll let them know how I feel about their bodies and their choices... Others can do whatever they want, God will judge and sort things out later.

You sir, have no business commenting on the Catholic faith.
Especially since the only reason you seem to be criticizing the Catholic Church is because he is critical of President Trump, which means you are putting an idiology (MAGA), and a person (Trump) before Jesus and the church.
It reminds me of Elvis Presley in his movies. He couldn't act worth a damn, so they had him sing a lot to cover up for it.
That would help, but ultimately I think we need protection for donors they should always know exactly what their donation will be used for.
Looks like the Pope shut up!!!
The Priest at the church was a left wing nut job. He set things on your seat before mas, left wing articles, or whatever, you had to bend down
and pick it up before you sat down.
Good, but just wait until he needs a few more bucks..
Sometimes the priests are part of a political agenda, but neither Democrats nor Republicans are free of sin. Pope Leo and Pope Francis
both failed to recognize that when they took sides.
If the Pope wants to fund projects that need funding he should take Michael's advice and just be a Pope... Spread the good news and save
some soles and a few babies along the way.
I'm not sure what goes on during the selection process... Are they selecting the Pope based on biblical reasons or political?? who knows.
AFAIK they have an election where only 113 cardinals vote. But the thing is: they are just men, and they are no closer to God than anyone else.
And what are their political leanings? IMO: 113 votes are easier to buy than 270 electoral votes. And buying a pope buys influence of the entire world.

I wished to GOD that the justice system moved more quickly. I think
this is all co-related , there is a common thread to all of this and I think it'll all point back to Barry et all.
I know you'll recall Barry back in the day talking about pumping soooo much disinformation so that the public cannot discern between the truth and the lies.
But it won't end with Osama. He was funded by others since he's a worthless person.
I fear that the if the justice system doesn't start moving more quickly, the more radical fringes of our country will "help it along".
Yup. That's why I get my information from a variety of sources and I delay in taking action until I get the **real** story.

act got his midterm House and Senate Republican majority.
I was watching the news today and Trey Gowdy was talking, you recall
trey was once a House member and a successful prosecutor... He thought that Barry might fall under the presidential immunity as described by
the Supreme Court.
I want justice and accountability... But I will take everything being fully exposed and changes made.
And to be honest I don't think Barry stopped working in the conspiracy
and he was doing his dirty work during Joe's term and as a result he
can't ask for immunity.
So, Barry gets exposed, Mike divorces him, his Presidential Library fails... He's shamed soooooooooooo bad that he moves back to whatever country in Africa he's from...
I'm not talking about the insane Left. I'm talking about the more
radical Right people who could possibly to something like start assassinating Leftist judges.
So I'm torn here. We need Presidential Immunity. And we have a process to prosecute a sitting member of the gov't - a process that is
cumbersome for good reasons - we don't want to hamstring someone when
they need to perform their duty.
On the other hand, I think we need to tighten it up a bit. The Left is good at pushing the boundaries and corrupting good ideas so that they
can do evil.
I think our frustration is that EVERYTHING is (pretty much) fully
exposed. But prosecutions are slow in coming.
Presidential Immunity stops when he's no longer President.
And another lower level operative is taken out while the puppet masters are still safe. That's part of the problem.
Osama isn't the puppet master. He's just another puppet who doesn't realize he still has strings.

Welp, if Barry was still working his magic behind the scenes during Joe Biden's term and during the Kamala's run... anything that pointed back
to the original start he could be charged. I would argue that.
Today James Comey was indicted for that 8647 stuff and one of Fauci advisors was indicted as well.
Barry's library is to open this summer and it will be opening with all this legal stuff going on, with most of his cabinet getting indicted
and the truth finally getting out. It maybe a sad day for him.
I believe Barry will see justice at some point.

I don't even know if we can count Candace and Tucker as "on the right" anymore. They seem to be totally deranged now and acting as controlled opposition.
That's a certain. Presidential Immunity doesn't protect you when you aren't President.
I saw that. I'm hoping for convictions, and potentially plea deals as they spill who they took orders from.
They never did have any policies to run on. All their policies were
sound nice, feel good stuff that hurt the country. And now the majority now understand that and won't fall for the nice sounding names and "intent" of their policies.
I think so too. People certainly committed crimes. They knew they committed crimes. And only committed them beliving that they would be protected.
