Valid point; she's in the WH now so she can work on effecting change but isn't
a VP pretty toothless though, politically? Though given that their VP is the current nominated candidate, I'm sure Biden will rubber stamp whatever she run
past his desk. But I was always under the assumption that VPs don't really ge
much done, they're more cheerleaders for POTUS' initiatives.
They break tie-breakers in the Senate. If they want to forward their
political career, they can make it look like they are working with the President to get things done.
Over the years, some VPs have stayed in the shadows while others have not.
Al Gore seemed to keep himself in the spotlight. So did VP Joe Biden. Both gave the impression that they were working with the President to get things done, and both wanted the public to know it. IIRC, sometimes Gore seemed
to have his own initiatives that he (or he and his wife) were "working on"
for America, with Clinton's blessings of course.
Harris was actually very publicly given a task by President Joe Biden
regarding the US Boarder situation. Where Gore or VP Biden would have used that opportunity to keep themselves in the spotlight and make it look like
they were working on it, Harris didn't really put forth any effort and
often seemed to disown the task. Most believe she never even completed the task.
Not a good look.
