Is it possible to hide that sbbs PAUSE prompt text for a file, but *still pause*? E.g. I'd probably put "hit a key" in the art.
probably better ways to do it, but you could write a small baja script
to do the pause and @EXEC:quietpause@
I have a full-screen logon.ans (24 rows) that I need paused so the user can take in its grandeur (lol), but the actual automated "PAUSE" prompt mucks up the art--appears over it, pushes some of the characters, etc.

I guess a solution *could* be to use "DELAY:n" @-code and just wait, say, 3 seconds or something, but thought I'd ask!

got it:
replace_text 563 ""
pause
revert_text 563
Or just: getkey

There's no "invisble pause prompt", which it sounds like you're asking for.
You could also try the BPS:<rate> @-code to just slow down the display.

he wouldnt need to put in that @code, he could just run a script before and after the display of the ansi

could i put in a feature request for an @code for pause with no display?
i think it would be useful for some people.

sorry, i'm a bit confused by the quoting in that message but.. yes, yes it does :)
i don't think i've used @exec anywhere really. when i was looking at my setup the "quiet pause" was for the last caller screen (which just kept it's own
log instead for some reason lol) and yeah, i didn't use it in the ansi itself.
it really shouldnt do that. that's a security risk.
i used it one time when working on another guy's bbs.
it's an ugly hack

not sure why.. i highly doubt the code that interprets @ codes in sync is ever allowed to operate on user content.

i dont think people should be able to execute scripts on other people's systems by posting codes in a msg base

It only tries to expand @-codes for messages posted by user #1 (you). You just happened to quote the @-code posted by someone else. This is why I usually post @-codes in lowercase.

Yeah, that would be bad. It's a good thing Synchronet doesn't allow that.

it would be good if @codes werent allowed to execute in the msg bases at all.
i dont think there's a legit use for them in the msg bases.

well it just tried to do that when i quoted his @code didn't it?

Only on *your* BBS, because you're user #1 there.
Only on *your* BBS, because you're user #1 there.
so if a sysop is on their bbs and quotes his msg and then views
it, it attempts to run the script, correct? and there are no
users left and we are all sysops.
i dont see the benefit of this, looks like an oversight.
