• Deleting in-transit mail?

From poindexter FORTRAN@1:103/705 to All on Saturday, April 20, 2024 12:23:33
I have 2 emails in limbo on my system, and every time the mail server boots up, I see the following two errors:

    4/20 12:19:21p 0000 SEND Message #24653 from 'Mail Delivery Subsystem' <Mail.Delivery.Subsystem@realitycheckbbs.org> to <root@sd3.shoemastrh.com> - in transit
    4/20 12:19:21p 0000 SEND Message #24666 from 'Mail Delivery Subsystem' <Mail.Delivery.Subsystem@realitycheckb

(last message copy truncated, but it's the same as the first...)

Is there a way to delete these messages?

    Thanks!

Good thing you're not actually a Sysop of an operating BBS. Sheesh.

Do you not even realize the consequences of doing that?

Yes, you can delete them using the ;mail command or you can run the exec/notransit.js script to remove the in-transit flag from those message or you can configure your mail server to send messages regardless of this flag, as instructed in the the FAQ: https://wiki.synchro.net/faq:tcpip#send_mail

the way i would do it is shut down synchronet and delete your mail data files.

    That is incorrect.

Thanks - found and deleted them using the ;mail command. I'm using a
mod of an old Synchronet 2.xx renegade menu, had to go back to the stock
    menu to run the command.

I'd forgotten how nice it is to have all of the commands on one screen.
    :)

The Synchronet Renegade Clone shell has the sysop commands available via the '*' menu key.

The '*' option isn't on the screen?

My bad - it's on the main screen but not the sub-menus.
