• Qwk Reader For Android

From Khronos@21:2/153 to All on Sunday, December 08, 2024 13:26:57
    Hi,
I am working on ways to read messages from my Android phone and I'm trying to figure out what would work the best.
From what I can tell so far if I could find a qwk reader
it would be best so I only have to create a single connection between my phone and the bbs and I could read and write to any echos I want and let the bbs do the network translation for me.
The client I am trying out now forces me to create a point node for each of the FTN's I want to read.
This works but isn't the best as I don't have an easy way for working with echos that are Qwk based.

Thanks for any ideas / thoughts you may have as I am open to ideas.

    Howdy,

What I could do, and I'm tossing up whether I do it, is make API access to clrghouz messages. So if somebody wrote an an app for Android (and iOS) and makes API calls, I could surface the messages and message areas via it.

If there are any frontend developers here who want to do that, I'll do the backend stuff :)

For a time, I set up my Android phone with a keyboard and DOSBOX for Android, and ran MultiMail in the DOS window. Worked pretty well.

I don't see any qwk client for android, but you can use HotDogEd with
    nntp instead of ftn.
Unfortunately it is dismantled, but it works quite well.
