    Just a shot in the dark but does Crystal BBS have its own telnet server or
    does it use Linux? If so you have to change a line in /etc/services

    Find the telnet line and change 23 to 2323 then restart xinetd/inetd or just reboot the machine..

    Yes, it has its own server. It's the whole point of the tutorial ;)
