Whichever one you're using, inclusing Termius, make sure you change the "character set" or whatever the program calls it to CP437 or CodePage437 because it usually defaults to UTF-8 or somesuch. Then you will see all the ANSI characters properly.

    Hi there, Everyone!

I've been using NetRunner and SyncTerm on my Windows PCs, but managed to grab "Termius" on iOS so that I can extend my BBS'ing to my iPad. Is that the best option? What other iOS apps do you use for telnetting or SSH'ing into BBS'es? Would love your feedback and guidance. Thanks!

I also use SyncTerm (mostly) and occasionally NetRunner from a
laptop/desktop. I've also played with the old-skool method of something
like Telix/Procomm in DOSBox (on Linux), and it works well also.

I've played with Termius on iOS but it's a little more awkward and I
don't do it often. I don't think there is anything better for that
    platform, though.

Thanks. I didn't think so, either. There are a lot of terminal apps mostly for TTY/SSH/RLogging into shells, but they have terrible ANSI support. Termius appeared to be pretty different in this regard and had a solid VT100 emulator, so I get about 80-90% compatibility with Synchronet BBS'es.

my.fTelnet.ca is OK... and I use the Syncterm Docker to login using an iPad when at my home network; that option is REALLY nice, and can be setup for use away from home - altho I don't go that far...

Can you walk me through your Syncterm Docker approach? I've got several home servers running for media, and they have Docker support, so that might be an option here.

I do very much like fTelnet, and I like seeing there's an on-demand option in "my.fTelnet.ca." Thanks for sharing that!

Well, its available on GitHub here:
    https://github.com/jaromaz/stws

The instructions are fairly cut and dry, if you have docker experience... for ME, I use ProxMox for my Virual Machines so I just spun up an Ubuntu VM and followed the GitHub to a tee. Once setup, you can access the SyncTerm docker container from any device on the network - like a laptop, other VMs OR an iPad. :P

Yea - the biggest issue I have with this method is screen size and the keyboard... its tough to get them all laid out in a useable way on the iPad - but its workable for sure.
