• New Magicka Script

From apam@21:1/125 to All on Sunday, April 09, 2017 03:43:00
    Hi All

I've updated the script on my site to magickapi5.tar.gz. This is a big change at the request of Paul to seperate the source code from the main BBS directory. So the layout has changed quite a bit.

It also adds a new script called watchmail.sh which will watch for mail semaphores and run magiscan.sh automatically when an echo/netmail is posted. It requires inotify-tools to be installed, and is added to the dependencies.

If you want to use this new version, it's recommended that you delete your whole MagickaBBS folder and start over. If you're happy with the current version, updatebbs.sh will still work and still fetch the latest code and compile it.

Thanks to those who've given the script a go, it's great getting feedback and I really appreciate the time you've spent :)

    The new script is here:

Hey thanks for the updates, cool stuff, will try to revisit tonight, just moving my IPv6 tunnel from Singapore to LAX in an attempt to reduce latency.

LAX is further away. :) Last time I checked, IPv6 routes went from Oz via Asia to the US. But only one way to find out. But perhaps NZ traffic goes directly to the US, so it might be worth a shot.

Yep in my case Hawaii to a site near LAX and it seems to have helped a
little. I was just starting to suspect my first choice was a little slow and thought I'd try this one.

Big issue for me is with the last Tunnel there was a local provider in New Zealand I could connect to, now that's no longer the case :(

    Best, Paul

Yeah, the problems I had finding a tunnel provider too.
