Hi

Because of the issues that have been happening regarding score packets,
I've redone the way score packets are sent.

Presently, every time a node run maintenance, if the score has changed
since last run it will send a score packet to every node on the list.
This means if someone misses a score packet, it won't have the empire
listed until their score changes and the new packet is sent.

The new way maintenance will now send a recon packet to each node at most
twice a day. When a node receives a recon packet it will send all scores
to the node that sent the recon packet.

This means scores will only be updated twice a day at most, but all
scores will be updated (even if they haven't changed).

It should also mean less packets (? i think?) if people play regularly
(and maintenance is run each time).

All the other packets types work the way they have, all that is changed
is the score packets.

And in doing so, will there be a reset and a new game id# ?

I've sent you a snapshot of the current HUB setup so you can look for any issues. If you want to move to a new version (sounds like there may be one) feel free to send me the updated install files and I can send them out to
nodes etc. and/or update the HUB system as well.

I suspect we will update the software soon as Andrew is working on score packets at the moment..

Will do so soon, I've tested the update between two nodes on my own
system and it seems to work.

I was considering adding a force recon function, but it should be easy
enough to force a recon by just resetting the interbbs.db3 and running maintenance.

Got to go shopping with the wife today so will look at compiling

Yeah all good, that all sounds awesome... thanks for have a poke at the
code... if there's anything you can add to the logging and the detail it provides that would be my one suggestion... that way when HUB or nodes have issues there may be a little more in there to explain what was happening... just a thought :)
