    No takers for comment?

    I don't think I've seen a webring in about 10 years.

We had recent conversation about the same, and effecting one for FSX as an entity. No relation to the old business model. I just whipped up a static page

with 3 links on it for 3 "sites". Despite some initial interest no comments came forward... s'pose its probably if you want to do it then do it things and show off the finished product..

It'd be a serious stretch for my PHP skills though.

From a user's perspective, I think the top frame occupies too much
of the screen - especially for many of today's wide-screen
    designs.

Interesting.. the top "frame" which is really everything before an iframe is really only the image loads and thats it.... I felt if the logo go much smaller

than that it would become unreadable. Despite being wide, most screen resolutions give you about 1024 tall these days. I have a couple of odd ones that are still in the 900 area... but I think its the exception rather than the

    norm.

I could take the HR out of it... I'll see if halving the logo again seems to work also. I s'pose I could also stop the use of the logo as a link, and just push it left using something else for "RANDOM" & "HOME" pages...

I miss the days of webrings where you could just dig and dig and get
into weird corners of the web.

I think thats the point, if someones interested enough to get to it in the first place, try and keep them hooked poking through the rest of the networks BBS'

I've been having a sleepless morning, and played with the layout. If its insufficient someone else will have to do it. Its the best I can manage. Its still quite inflexible to my mind if you can't cope with the width it'll be ugly. Centering the iframe seems to leave it stuck for some reason. Anyhoo I'm only looking at it in Firefox no idea what it might look like in anything else.

I think it's great now that I'm trekking with the concept again.

Some good thoughts in there... IF I swapped the header to a sidebar you could fit more links inquite happily. It could have more "info" tabs incorporated into it.

new BBS'ers, and even those that get a nostaligic itch, could run
to their tablet, or laptop for their next fix on FSX's (ok, better

I'm not sure that tablets will have enough realestate to make it work. If you're going to avoid scrolling here and scrolling there, you need a bit of resolution and size, the same issue that plagues phones. I don't see any way to make them our "market". That really only leaves laptops, desktops, and larger tablets.

Looks like the left/right pane format is actually better than horizontal. It'll

particularly suit anyone whose www pages are horizontal already, although Tiny's still works ok.

Seeing as I'm not working full width for the iframe, it actually fits better too... It will work best if your own web pages are a dynamic fit already. The home page for Agency with the terminal on it, is not dynamic thanks to its own iframe, if you resize it the terminal gets pushed out of the window, the TLP home page on "previous" will scale inside the iframe as you play with window sizing without destroying your text.

    Tiny's isn't very dynamic either.
