a txt based system, and not a GUI that a user can point a

Websites are the "Internet" and don't do anything else.

Nah.. people are well aware of the various messenger apps:
WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Signal, Sypes, Session, Simplex,
Matrix ..to name a few. And among them both mobile and desktop
versions are available.

I have come across people that only own a Smartphone and a Tablet.

There is alo the issue that some people think that FB/ Websites are the
