Hows everyone doing? Just checking in! I hope all made it through one
of the 42 massive tornado's that touched ground in the mid-west of the
US last evening. We had one touch down about 10 miles north of us; the weather was wild and my roof was new. It's still new; likely more weathered for sure though. At least we are all safe and the house is sound.

Yikes, that's terrifying, glad you're ok. Tornados are terrifying. I
was driving on the interstate in NC one time and tornado sirens started going off (can't say I was surprised at the time based on the weather! lol) and I floored it and parked under a bridge. I'm fairly certain the tornado went directly overhead because debris was getting blown all
over the place and visibility got very poor, the rain was blowing
sideways into the underpass. Crazy stuff.
And people from the midwest freak out over the ground moving underneath us. That's frightening!
Dude, I didn't even hear about these storms until you mentioned them to
me today. St0ked that they didn't come any closer to you than they
already did - fingers cr0ssed, rockstar!
Wowzers! 42 tornado's in one evening, mental. Glad y'all were safe, I
hope no-one was hurt with any of them.

Doing well. Just 8" of snow is all. Was actually kinds nice to have an excuse to not do anything this weekend. Other than wife time. How goes things for you?
Yeah they were rather intense. It's been this way for the past two
years. Our winters have been like we are stuck within a wind Machine
with -35 degree windshields; while our springs have been super high wind gusts even without Tornado's. I have a feeling this one was closer then caught on radar, as our wind normally comes directly from the East, sometimes south south east, but NEVER directly from the south in our
front yard and north in our back yard. The rain was literally sideways. Mind you, I love extreme weather (as long as I don't get hurt) so while
I had the kids safely away from Windows, I was standing by the front
door, with it open, in awe.

Dude! Funny anecdote. A week and a half ago (or so) I was at my office
in Mountain View and we had folks visiting from Austin. There was some thunder and all the Californians looked out the window in horror. We
had a fun discussion about how we have less thunder than tremors and
it's all just what we're used to, I guess.

Now the flooding and crazy snow reported recently in California, along with mudslides, that might get under my skin moreso like a tornado for sure.
I went to college on the peninsula, and we had a decent sized
earthquake. The out-of-state people were clamoring under desks, the Californians were calmer:
Wow 8" of snow? Where did you get that? We haven't had a good snow in years, our winters have been very cold with the windshield and high wind speeds. I'm very glad the temperatures are warming up as I've been wanting to get my garden started and to simply enjoy being outdoors with the kids. Things are much better for me now, my health is managed and just enjoying life as much as this crazy world allows :)

I'm from USA/MN. I have been wanting to make garden myself but almost never get to it. So much time is gobbled up with the kids. We might be in the 70's next week so bye bye snow. :D

I was in Salt Lake City opening stores back in the early 2000's and some earthquake apparently happened. It had that "jump when the elevator
And I say I hate the Portland RAIN so much... glad yer OK, hoping no
more crazy wind comes yer way...
I experienced 5.5 last summer in Cyprus, during vacation. Nothing happened, my bed at night was just shook like if some invisible giant
just wanted to wake me up, in a brutal way. It took about 30 seconds to calm down and my suit case was riding all around the bed room like if ghosts were pushing it.
Strange feeling, but no injuries or building damages what so ever. I was freaked out, but locals said they have such minor earthquakes, every quarter.

Is Portland rain any different than Seattle's rain?
Not at ALL - it rains 5 months a year; a few months of sun... very different from my home of Texas. I've only been here for 3... 4 years.
I'm not a super fan, but I have some love here, so I remain...
