IIRC, I also set up "ping", so you can send a ping@ to my hub or my bbs

and you

should get a reply back pretty quickly...

I just used this Ping feature to see if my Netmail was working and I got a reply which is freaking great. How did you set this up? Are you using SBBSEcho or do it? Or something else?

ping at the hub I've using a perl filter capability that is available with HPT to respond to ping events.

For Synchronet, I did nothin' - discovered sbbsecho does that by itself. (Although I sent your BBS a ping and havent got a reply yet... hmm....)

I haven't had the best of luck with routed netmail. The ping I sent you was about the first I got back besides some AREAFIX messages to my hub.
