Hello all three readers of this echo.. <g>
I was recounting a somewhat nightmarish dream to someone
recently, and starting thinking that the events in it could
have been the basis of a litrpg.
The dream went like this..
I woke up upon hearing little mewing sounds. Turns out there
were some kittens running amok in the house. One was
particularly friendly and jumped up on my bed and allowed me to
pet it. But it quickly skooted out of the room. I followed..
..that's when I discover MORE kittens and some cats running
around. There were maybe about 6 total. I managed to steer
them out of the house through the front door. But then I heard
a commotion downstairs.
I heard what sounded like chains being dragged across the floor
and things falling over. That's when I came upon a dog that was
wandering all over - the chain was catching onto things and
knocking things over. But.. there wasn't just one dog, there
were three! And, all three were chained to each other. As they
wandered all over the room, the chain would drag and knock
things over. The sound of the chain dragging along the hard
floor was very prominent. The dogs seems friendly enough, but
they were confused. I managed to wrangle them up and skoot them
outside the front door.
Returning downstairs, I noticed my mom sitting at the computer.
I asked her how did the dogs get in? No answer. I noticed the
rear sliding door was a bit ajar. Looking outside, I noticed my
dad sitting in a parked pickup truck and grinning. I asked him
WTF are you doing here and WTF is the thing with the dogs? No
answer. I turned to my mom.. no answer. I perceived she was
duped somehow and permitted the animals inside. She looked
sorry and confused. My dad remained sitting in the truck,
driver's side window down, his elbow resting on the door, a
piece of grass in his mouth, and grinning. I was fuming when I
wasn't getting anwers. Then I woke up, for real.

I figured, one could just add the occassional "level" markers
and score accumulation between paragraphs/events.. and instant
litrpg story world! Well.. at least enough for a short story.

--I also had a dream about kittens.

I was hunting from an hostile extraterrestrial life form, which TV had reported to
have been seen in the countryside, so I went there with a trusty plasma gun. An old
lady came to me screaming that th alien was in her house and was scaring the kittens
away. I ran into the house, where this exraterrestrial giant snake was trying to catch
a lot of kittens which lived in the house.
There was an epic shootout, he house was set on fire, and finally the sname was
vaporized. Just as I was going to move out of the house, I found out the doors were
locked and the windows had bars.
"I want to play a game!" said the old lady from out of the house. "There is a bomb in
the house, set to go off in 5 minutes! One of the kittens has eaten the only key that
will let you out of here. Now, you must decide whether you want to gut kittens until
you find the key if you want to save yourself. Let the game begin!"
So the rest of the dream was me chasing kittens around the house hahahaha --
