SlyEdit has had user settings for a while now, and I'm
considering adding a user setting to toggle between Ice & DCT
modes. The first time a user uses SlyEdit, it could ask the
user if they want to use Ice or DCT mode, and then stay in that
mode until the user decides to change it via user settings.
Then there could be just one SlyEdit entry in the external
editors. After such a change is made, SlyEdit may need to ask
current SlyEdit users whether they want Ice or DCT mode
because that setting doesn't exist yet. Would you be in favor
    of this change to SlyEdit?

Since SlyEdit is currently called with a switch (betewen DCT and Ice), maybe only offer that if SlyEdit is called without the switch?

Not sure if you could overide the switch if the user has a preference, or even if you'd want to do that.

That'd make things easier for sysops who already have it installed the current way.

...We have met the enemy and he is us.

Yeah, I could do that. I could keep the command-line parameter and have it so that SlyEdit only asks the user on first startup if that command-line parameter isn't provided. I might still have it provide the user setting even in that situation though..
