  • BBS Settings (or something)

    Greetings.

    We are having a problem here at the BBS with responding to others posts in message echos. It does not seem to matter which conference it is.

    You read a post, hit R to respond, the BBS auto-fills the poster's name, but when you hit return, the bbs types Unknown User and quits. Strange and can't see any solution on-line.

    Sure we missed turn something on or off somewhere.

    What is the easiest editor we have at our disposal for the use of simple folks. Some have issues with quoting, I know I do.

    Regarding my response issue, I did a complete re-boot of synchronet and the issue went away.

    Sounds like you have a message base configured as not networked with "Post Using Real Names" set to "Yes" and you're replying to a message posted by a non-existent or deleted user.

    Is this a networked conference? If yes, then you need to configure it as such in SCFG->Message Areas (under each sub's "Network Options").
