    Funny you should ask.... :)

    Today I [feel free to insert you're own version of what happened if you
    would like to reply] ...

    =====

    Today I drove for three hours (1.5 each way) from Dunedin to a little place called Middlemarch in the central Otago area. I was looking at poles... yep
    you read right... poles, the kind that carry street lights and power down the street.

    On them are a few banner arms that allow the city council to fly promotional fabric banners 900mm x 2600mm like Christmas artworks, other community events etc.

    I was there to map which poles had arms installed and to also plan the replacement of several with a new rail system called FlagTrax which we're installing around the City and wider city area.

    FlagTrax system - http://www.flagtrax.com/nz

    Dunedin City - "Dunedin was the largest New Zealand city by territorial land area until superseded by Auckland with the formation of the Auckland Council
    in November 2010. " - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunedin

    So all in all a different day out of the office with lots of paperwork to do tomorrow.

    Well, today was a rather dull day. I did a bit of shopping, then spent the afternoon BBSing, chatting, etc, except for an errand late in the afternoon. Now watching some DS9. :)

    Is that associated with your regular work?

    I drove 2 hours (1 hour each way) to my employer's main office to attend meetings which turned out that I was the only person present. So the
    meetings did not actually take place. For me, it felt like a wasted day especially since I didn't make much progress toward my deadlines.

    I drive a minimum of that to work daily. If you were getting paid the entire time while driving, it doesn't really matter. All part of the typical day. At
    least that is how I look at it.

    No, really most of the time I sit in an office so the drive was a nice distraction to do :)

    Yep sounds like it, bummer... is remote skype or similar an option?
