    Generally the proto boards will have a serial input attached already, so you just need to plug it into a USB port to be able to set the software before use.












































































































































































































































































    Only word of warning I would add is, unlike a modem thats instant on, these are












































































































































































































































































    like melting blancmange getting started so sit tight and wait for a bit before you decided you did something wrong.

    I had a suspicion that it would have to be configured via serial.

    While the programming interface is some kind of serial, it'll be USB specifically to connect it to, for power as well. Its carrying the converter on board as well.
