I was wondering if there would be any interest in a 'global' BBS
Discord server, somewhere that folks can connect to, voice chat while
they roam on BBS's, etc.
Thinking along the lines of each participating BBS would have their
own voice and text channel so that they can 'customize' it, etc.

out there. I am willing to manage and maintain it, too. Share your ideas.

I just installed discord. Apparently I already had an account, though I don't remember using it before. I don't really know much about it.
How does that work? If we're all in our own channel would we still hear each other?
Could be good I suppose, like I said I don't know much about it but willing to try it out. (Though I'd have to go searching through my cupboard for that webcam that has a microphone on it, which is a bigger task than it sounds)..
For me I like to chat using the keyboard and reading messages in
echomail. I can understand the appeal of voice chat just as there's an appeal for IRC and MRC to have something that's more text based but arguably more immediate than posting in echomail. Although with CRASH traffic and IP connectivity between BBS these days you can also happily have a pretty dynamic group chat going in BBS message bases as well.
Not for me, Voice doesn't fit well into my domestic setup. It would be too intrusive.
