    Hi Palkat

Just thought I would share my positive experience with Hyper-V for what
    it worth.

Just like to ask about Hyper-V, would like to have a go with using
it, although I have virtual box working fine, and now I have vmware
setup and all of it working fine, but now I like to look at hyper-v
and i did say I don't have a window 10 pro on any of my computers
but like to get a windows 10 pro software and reinstall it on one of my
    spare computer

I do have pro on vmware and options are there but says computer unsuitable which I under stand that ,
but the question I would like to ask you, can I get win 10 pro software and install it on a computer or download via microsoft download and get a licence or does it depend on the computer if it virualized (not spelt right but same like that in other word computer not suitable to run Hyper-v

if it will work, software or download from microsoft .

    Thank you

Hyper-V is built into Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise (if memory serves - do double check this) so it's just a package you have to install in Windows 10 via
the add software thingie in the control panel.

Okay, thank you, Hyper-V is in Windows 10 Pro and the only computer I have
it on is in vmware guest window, so it may not work in the guest option and
it is there in setting, there were 4 boxs I click on, the 4 I wasn't aloud to click on that one ,did it thing and I went to the control panel, Hyper-V did came up but no add + setting and said same thing like it depends on the computer might not let me do this samething like viruatalize or samething

so was just wondering if I brought a windows pro software from a shop and put it on a spare computer would work ok then, or would it still complain abut the computer, that's all.

    Thank you

Check in your BIOS settings if the virtualization support is switched on. If it
isn't, Hyper-V will most likely not install.

    Hi Sneaky,

Most defiantly don't do Hyper-V on a VM, but you know that one. ;) The advantage of your Win Pro on the VM you should be able to move your pro activation to physical hardware machine. You can pull your product key on
the VM win pro install (if you don't have the product key) by using something like Belarc Advisor

    https://www.belarc.com/products_belarc_advisor

Once you have the key you can enter it in during the install on your physical machine using the latest windows 10 download from Microsoft site. Once it is installed it most likely wont activate so you will have to do the dreaded
call their Activation people with your key you got from the VM pro and they will transfer the activation to new install on the physical machine for you
    and going forward.

Your VM machine for what your using it for does not need pro so you can down grade it to home and still have the same VM experience for it.

Once you have the Physical Machine running pro you can turn on Hyper-V
through Control Panel >> Programs and Features >> Turn Windows features on
and off. From there you will need to turn on Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Hypervisor Platform.

Let me know how it goes.

Okay, I will do this first, before do anything else, if it does, I go head
with my plan to get a win 10 pro on to a computer, if not, I just stick with
    what I have vmware.

    Thank you for you help
