Well, it's AFL Grand Final Eve here in the state of Victoria, and in characteristic Victorian style, today was a public holiday - not the only one we have for a sporting event.

I had a pre season track meet. Ran 2 events - 100 and 400 metres, and also did shot put and javelin. The day went well, with some good times, not far off my best from last season, and particularly good for pre season. I'm also not yet training at full intensity, because I don't need to peak until at least January, which made the track times particularly good.

In the field, I threw a shot put PB, and my first successful javelin throw with a runup. My results were:

100m - 13.41
400m - 1:03.62
Shot put - 7:08
Javelin - 15.74

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my performances today. Was a relatively quiet day, only a few dozen, but next week should be busy as the season proper starts. :)

I strongly suspect should I try to shotput these days, and it was never my strong suite, that the shot would be sitting on the ground in the start position, and I'd be maybe at -2.0m
