Hello
Kind of bored sitting in front of the computer, logging into various bbses and exploring.
The last couple of days I've been setting up a new WWIV BBS. It's called "The Barbed Hook".
Still keeping this BBS though, it's something to work on when I get the motivation again. Needs private messaging and the ability to set pointers. It wouldn't take long, just have no motivation to do it.

There you go, now you know some of the CPAP lingo. Well, that's all the lingo I know anyway :P Exciting stuff.
If you want to have a look at my WWIV bbs, it's at barbedhook.ddns.net:2323
Oh I updated my sudoku door game, it now times the game and has a top 10 leaderboard.
Well, have fun.

You don't remember if you slept? That's another problem! LOL
This I do know something about. Try covering the hose with a blanket or sheet so there's less of a temperature difference to cause condensation.

Rain, hail or shine I can't see CPAP being fun any of the time. I
s'pose you get used to it though.
You're putting too much water in the reservoir (at least that's what hashappened to me)
I sure as hell did... and it's helped my blood pressure numbers massively.

so it could well be. On some level, my theory was the same as a compressor, at some point the thing is pushing air so its being
squashed if not necessarily compressed, but when you squash air the moisture falls out. Which is why you end up with the receiver full of

I've tried everything, have the humidity down to 0, it's supposed to
have a heated hose, and I've got a cover on it (like a blanket)
Apparently with my sleep study I was stopping breathing about twice a minute...

Then again, I learned how to sleep on a carrier underneath a catapult while working night shift.
I bet you raided the file library :) all good.
Maybe you can see if there is any code additions that could make it better.

I've been (trying) to use a CPAP for a couple of years now: I have it
ramp up slowly over 45 minutes (the slowest setting), but when it
reaches the full force flow (the minimum required to keep you breathing, apparently), it always wakes me up and I remove it, completely
irritated. The maximum length of time I've managed to tolerate it is
just over an hour. I'm using the "nose pillows", not a mask. Got any pointers for me? :-)

I use the nose pillows one too. I'm obviously not a doctor, so can't really give advice, but it sounds like the full force flow is too much. Sometimes my CPAP goes crazy and is forcing air up my nose at an alarming rate and I have to take it off. Usually though, when I wake up it's fairly slow, I guess it's just got to maintain a certain pressure.
Obviously the CPAP is doing you no good if you can't wear it, perhaps your mouth is open when you sleep? then the pressure would escape and it would ramp up.
When I started I used to sleep with my mouth open and they made me
wear a chin strap. My father-in-law tapes his mouth shut with tape - I wouldn't recommend that, as it kind of freaks me out (What if i get a blocked nose lol)
Anyway, probably best to talk with your doctor, or CPAP supplier.

Yeah, I was first diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2001 but didn't get a CPAP until just a few years ago at my wife's insistance and after a second sleep study confirmed the apnea was bad (and supposedly dangerous). I've heard of this gear, never had to use it (thankfully) but am fascinated by this thread. I hope you get some resolution to the niggles you're having.

It's a possibilty, but I don't *think* so, as opening your mouth with
the CPAP is a strange sensation and it actually creates kind of a
suction that keeps my mouth closed (I think). I suppose I could video record myself sleeping to find out for sure. I definitely don't want to
do another sleep study; those are tortuous for me.

Maybe try some melatonin to help you get to sleep while you are getting used to it. I can't sleep without the CPAP.

I love me some melatonin. For awhile there I was taking way too much (10mg) then I came across this healthy sleep formula. Now I take 2mg of melatonin with 500mg of niacinamide and I usually sleep right through the night & don' feel groggy the next morning.

Skip the ramp up, just go full force.

are far better than a full mask. Maybe try some melatonin to help you get to sleep while you are getting used to it. I can't sleep without the CPAP.

I found it was the quickest way to get used to it, ripping the bandaid off quickly so to speak.

I don't have any trouble falling asleep with it (at least when it
starts out on low pressure), but always get woken up (after about 45 minutes) by the full blast up my nose and it seems to be spraying my
face. At that point, I'm tired and irritated that it woke me up, so I always rip it off my head and fall right back asleep. I'll try it
without the ramp up since that just isn't working for me. Thanks,
Many years ago the results of a Sleep Study showed I had Sleep Apnea and
I started using a CPAP Machine and wearing a Mask.

Been bored lately. Everything I usually do isn't really fulfilling at
the moment.

I was going through that here. I bought a new laptop so have everything isntalled on that and a pile of games for playing without internet. I know I won't play them but it killed some time.
I do small wood carvings when I am motivated. Pretty cheap hobby as long as you don't go overboard. :)

I've been reinstalling OSes, am and currently on AlmaLinux, but even
that is starting to get boring - there seems to be no interesting linux distros anymore and other OSes don't seem to run well enough on my computer. Maybe I've been doing it too long.
I've set up synchronet.. it's kind of fun. I'm keen to see what they're using MQTT for. But why?
I don't have the concentration to read a book or watch a movie. Even if
I did I don't seem to have a long enough uninterrupted chunk of time to
do so.
Started writing a BBS in rust, but that got old pretty quickly.
Set up a minetest server again, it's just me. It's kind of fun if I can get myself motivated to play it.
Second Life is kind of dull, but I have managed to break even the last couple of months, so that's a plus (ie, it's not costing me anything as
I make enough in game to pay the fees)
Just bored I guess.

Maybe don't focus your energy on computers right now. Pickup some weight training.

Must be catching, I've been in the same boat for the last month or so...BBS disease? :P
