Allowed? That seems a bit harsh. In the age of Google Translate, maybe we
could be a little more diversified?

If I recall corrently, english is preferred as most of us speak that, but not strictly required. There was an FSX_ESP echo for spanish speaking but that seemed to go away when those who used it left.

I guess if there is a high demand for a particular language other than english Paul would spin off a new channel, but otherwise, other languages are allowed,

those who can't read it can just skip over it.

Generally yes, but if there's not echo of the correct language, have a go anyways if there's enough to be annoying you'll probably get a new home :)

I've never really understood that. I mean, sure, it can be frustrating seeing

a conversation going on that you don't fully understand, but how is that any different than English conversations when you have people around who English isn't their primary language? (Yes, my grammer is atrocious there)

Personally, I'm pretty much limited to English speaking or writing, but I can more or less follow along reading Spanish, French, and German. Or I used to be

able to, I'm out of Practice.
So let it be written, So let it be done.

Englñish is not my primary language, but I assume that when I go into some English speaking area, the responsibility of adapting to the situation is mine, not the local's.

It weirds me up when some Spanish speaker pops up at an English speaking IRC channel or forum and starts asking questions in Spanish. Seriously guys, with the exception of those who speak no English at all and whose question is "¿Hay algún canal para hispanoparlantes?" ("Any channel for Spanish speakers here?" ) it guives a very very bad impression.

Nod, I was pretty happy to have a crack at using some German, its the only other language I have any familiarity with and I don't get to practice often.
