It depends on the nature of the injury. I know someone who had disc replacement surgery, which was very successful, after a workplace

I had a decompression and fusion at L5-S1, in itself nothing terribly remarkable. Surgery went well, and for a very brief time I thought I was
home and hosed. But it drifted off again by the time everything was fully healed.

Its just one of those things everyone is different. I wouldn't write it off
if you're running out of options. When I had mine done, I was still trying to work, in a paint store no less.... I was popping enough over the counter pain relief to put myself in hospital. Something had to give, so in the end I decided on the surgery. The experience in itself isn't particularly nice thats
what most puts me off having any more. But as I commented before, I don't think it did any extra harm either. Then end result just wasn't what was hoped
    for.

Hopefully, you don't need those doses of painkillers now.

Give us this day, our daily dose. I live on them... one of the very few white men you'll see walking around frankston in a sarong, come hail, rain or shine too. I was left with a really sensitive section across my lower back, I can't wear anything with a waistband in it. :P
