• Apple II Forever!

I'm currently using a CRT TV on composite, but haven't done too much
with it yet. I need a floppy alternative (the drives work, but who

Once you get anything running composite will become unusable. I s'pose scart to HDMI will work too. So long as the scart specs are there. I'll see if I can
track down the GS D5 -> scart pinouts.

The Apple drives tend to be a bit like brick sheltersheds... don't fail very often. But the GS will really want some kind of mass storage for best results.
Give you already have the floppy's hanging off the smartport, I'd suggest something like a MicroDrive Turbo, it looks like a RAMFAST scsi card to the system, but with an IDE interface and these days if you order one it'll come with a CF adapter and card installed. If you have other scsi equipment, I'd try and get hold of an Apple High Speed SCSI card. Gives reasonable speed, plus
will also drive most other SCSI devices, CD etc...

I tend to forget this... but anyone that has fond flashbacks to their Apple II or is still interested, should have a poke around pineapple.zapto.org
All sorts of goodies, hardware database, manual library, simple projects. Its hanging off the other side of tlp.zapto.org... another virtual server :)

Anyway, so how does one access pineapple.zapto.org? I've tried HTTP, telnet and FTP to no avail. :(

Well its like this, it went over with the BBS and everything else. It like the
BBS should be alive and kicking. Things are still a little hit and miss though. I need to invest in some new power boards. A couple of them get tired and prolapse, and a couple the plugs fall out of. And that plays merry hell with the current setup.

While there, I picked up an Apple IIGS and I have no idea how to
    operate it (yet).

Hey Jeff, I think you posted a photo on FB no? Was a nice looking beast, if you don't have a monitor that'll be the first fun part. It has composite and a
strange RGB. Composite is lousy unless you just want your GS to be a IIe. Cheapest picture at the moment is to find a SCART tv, and break out the RGB lead... something in the SCART specs is friendly to the GS whereas not much else is.
