Hadn't heard of DOSShell, sounds rather useful. :)

    It absolutely is.

I used it to edit the BBS ad that I posted a bit ago to contain the new information to connect.

I'm going to add it to my files on the BBS if you want to come get it
    from here.

Is this the one from Infinity Design Concpets (IDC)?

Can one use the built in mystic editor to edit ANSI menu files? If not what is a recomendation for a linux native ansi editor?

I use TheDraw in DOSBOX. Sometimes I'll use AcidDraw in DOSBOX. I've also
ran PabloDraw too. Once you get mono installed, PD works like a champ. It even works well on my ODROID desktop.

I use PabloDraw - it's "sort of" native - it's a .net app that runs i Mono. Seems to work quite nicely.

I tried that one, wasn't really impressed with it to be honest. Nonetheless it will work ... as mentioned earlier I found another
Windows application for ANSI development called TundraDraw.

It has some limitations of its own, but for general editing of ANSI
    menu's and such, it's good.

Yeah, except he was asking about linux native ansi drawing apps. Agreed,
that none mentioned here are native, but windows specific apps are harder to run, even with emulators and wine.

But in response to the original request, here's a link that I have found: ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/apps/graphics/draw/!INDEX.html. Not all of
the apps in the list are for ansi drawing tho.

But I also found a web-based drawing site: http://andyherbert.github.io/ansiedit/ A person can use it on any platform I imagine; so long as they have web ability.
