Hmm my ducks are finally almost all in a row... my stumbling point is still
the ftn uucp gateway. I'm presently hmmm 95% sure ufgate is what I had in the past. Having to have a somewhat pointless nodelist compiled for it is a problem I seem to remember having back then too.

I don't recall what the solution to that was back then, so in the short term I'm looking for a nodelist compiler that outputs files...

nodelist.sys or nodelist.dat and nodelist.idx

or

nodelist.dog and netlist.dog

Which are from Fido and SeaDog

This has been a problem in that the only compiler I've found that promises to do it, xlax doesn't seem to want to. A variety of errors or no errors and empty
files. Once again I'm in the market for suggestions and possibilities.

PS: I think UFGATE is actually running but isn't identifying packets correctly due to missing nodelist information

That sounds like you're swearing at me.

Mu initial plan was simply to import newsgroups into the BBS. This being DOS and all I didn't have a lot of choice. So I realised a little later, that I can also export my Message areas back to the News Server and provide web based access to them.

This gateway is all that stands in the way of the Master Race.. sorry master plan... I have a few guys that regularly play online games, but only post occassionaly. I might be able to get more out of them, if msg access was that bit easier.

At this stage, only reg'd BBS users could use it, and only my local areas, and
actual newsgroups would be on it. I haven't considered all the implications for letting the world loose on FSX via the web or mentioned that to anyone yet ;) Shhh its a secret.
