I wondering if you have tried to upload an ansi to your auto-messanger,
it upoads with all the colors and looks great , but when you save/exit

I actually haven't tried. but as g00r00 already stated, the message editor function in MPL is not the same message editor function in Mystic. The MPL M.E. doesn't seem to have the ability to save ansi files.
