It appears that some of my message base problems are because I haven't been worried about who or what is working on the message base at any particular time. I split things up a bit before, because if I scanned, FD seemed to kill attaches it wasn't aware of....

However I'm not sure what my best plan of attack is now.

In the good ol' days, I only polled once a day, during maintenance or something
similar, you took the whole BBS offline and it all did its thing.

Now, FD runs on a VM all by itself, it exits and does scans, so that FD will rescan as it reloads. So far so good. But now we get to the tricky part, if I poll every 2 hours, I don't really want to pull the whole thing down, but if theres someone in the message base and it starts to toss things are going haywire. I don't see a lot of option at the moment other than to toss/scan at limited intervals regardless of polling/receiving mail. So I'd set say every 6hrs a scan, poll, toss, in the mean time any other polling/receiving can go on
    as before.

Ponder, I wonder if there is a better way.
I s'pose I could have the toss cycle check for an suserson.? file and not toss if there is someone online.

    Anyway thoughts?
