The last thing I've just noticed and perhaps its important is...

evnt NEWSLINK !UNRECOGNIZED configuration keyword: null

presumably I've got a white space in there somewhere it shouldn't be. I'll comb
it over and see what I can find.

Do you have the word "null" in your newslink.cfg file?

I s'pose thats a good question too, I was looking for an option that had no config attached... but the answer on checking is no.
