I need an assist with my non-existant php skills. :)

The date is just a place holder, I was considering using the date from linux "date". My problem is... some way to figure out how to put the | in to close the box.

the format from date is "Sunday 22 September 23:11:31 AEST 2019"
I was thinking to just cut the day/date/month off it, count the characters then
add enough spaces to pad and ban a | on the end...

but the logic to do so in PHP eludes me.
