OMG that is horrible for mower decks and blades also -- the decks
being the second most expensive repair on a riding mower. A Bush

:) HAppy to throw new blades at it... never did any real damage to the deck... on the flip side when you wanted it done faster you'd get someone out with w tractor mounted slasher to make it a bit more reasonable. 1" tall and work on it from there... But this was also the ONLY work this ride on ever did, it was

    no lawn buggy...

By the time I eventually had to sell the block, she was pretty weed free, aside

    from the annual blow ins...

I thought about growing berries but have heard they can be invasive
and our family loves Rasberries.... If there's a cultivar of any

Haven't looked at any for a long time but there are non invasive cultivars around. Otherwise you could go the half wine barrel or similar and pop on in there to keep it contained.

We always rented a tractor with a pull behind brush cutter, or a skid

Sounds like what we think of as a slasher...

steer with a harly rake sometimes did the trick. My mowers were over $10,000 each, and designed for turf, so I kept those clear of brush.

Ahh yeah this wasn't one of them fancy schmancy jobs... it was about 150 yrs old, in lawn mower years when I got it, I think I still forked out about $400 for it... and drove the living daylights out of it for hmmm 5 years or so... It

began to get start issues and it was all downhill from there, it eventually went with the block. :) Some of the neighbours thought I worked it pretty hard, but it seemed like a tank to get around on...

I suppose what I meant by invasive, are those that don't grow out of control or too tall.

Run that by me again? :)
