carry it. Even after I added a few smaller FTNs, I didn't really interested in
it until c2000 when the software-specific network my BBS was on, GT Power Net,
started dying off due to the lack of software updates and an aging network population.
WWIVnet started to die around 2003, Fidonet kinda dried out around 2010. I helped give WWIVnet a second life, but its not like what it used to be.

I kind of loved the beginning of transx and internet rex where i ended up carrying all these weird othernets such as vibeznet, landnet, la naranja in the late 1990s.

Those were fun times, albeit a bit like playing shuffleboard on the
    deck of the titanic.

In the late 1990s, I had an ISDN line from work that connected to a
Shiva LAN Rover to connect me to the office and the internet, could use
one line for the BBS and the other for Internet Rex and internet usage
    - with tha dded benefit that having a digital path into the phone
network meant I got much higher analog dialup speeds than most.

Or, nail up both lines to get a 112kb/sec internet connection. Boy, did
    I think that was fast!

    LOL. I know, right? :) I actually wrote a clean-room echomail
transfer based off Internet Rex I affectionately named t-rex :)
