Hi all, i had a question....
does anyone know how to create a new bulletin for the section of mystic which has the bulletin area? i assume it is simular to how we post through echomail? if not, can some one share with me how to go about creating a new bulletin post?

Just wondering if you ever got an answer to this question? I've tried to create new ones, and modify existing - and while I can modify the existing using the ASCI editor, no items don't appear in the bulletins menu, and existing items' subjects don't update. I figure this is the same issue
you're experiencing?

Hi,
i havent had the change to mess with it alot yet.
i just did a massive upgrade to the storage on my server.
i migrated from 4 tb of storage to 24 tb of storage. :-)
I am having to rebuild my VMS. but i took backups of my Mystic BBS dir. and
am now setting it back up. still setting up my DNS settings for freedns.org
to point to my server again. i was desperatly running out of space on my proxmox host. i am running both a plex video server and BBS as seperate VMs
in ProxMox.

I'm jealous of your disk space lol I bought a budget NAS, and have two raid1 arrays (4TB and 3TB) which is enough for my needs.. but I always want more :D

I just moved my mystic server to a $5/mo Linode to remove the hastle of
having to host it at home. There are some I suppose that would say that defeats some purpose, but to me it's just easier (for as long as I can spare $5/mo) :)

Good luck with the rest of your builds. If you get back around to playing
with the bulletins, I'd be glad to tinker along with you. Likewise if I
figure anything out I'll drop you a line.

Really to all of you trying to make Bulletins...

I make Bulletins by editing what's there already. I'm using vi, but anything that will leave things as they are including special characters will work.
Just copy bullet1.asc to bullet3.asc and edit the subject line on down. That makes a bullet3, then to get it in to the menu edit bulletin.asc which is the menu file for Bulletins and add the new bullet3.asc in.

That is how I've always done it after looking through the code that made it.

Adding bulletins:

You can add numbered bulletins pretty easy with Mystic using Mystic-DOS and
the ansi editor (a what you see is what you get editor). Use the sysop menu
to add Mystic-DOS to the main menu:
/* to enter sysop menu, # to edit it (need to put in sysop password)
select default, go down to main (enter), then go down to the bottom of the
menu / for add and I for Insert. Next enter to edit the new (Q) entry for Mystic-DOS. I change the 10Q to 12/D and then the 03Quit to Main Menu to 12Mystic-DOS
Change the Hot Key to /D, Access String to s255 and hit tab to edit the action Up one, enter, change the Command to (down arrow to) *D and enter it. Change Access again to s255 and ESC, ESC, ESC Save changes (YES). Q to get to main. Nows there is /D Mystic-DOS, hit it and type the password in.
cd themes/default/text
copy bullet2.asc bullet3.asc
ansi bullet3.asc
Edit it up (control v toggles insert so you can add text, control y to delete lines. ESC s to save when finished and ESC q to quit,
ansi bulletin.asc
add in ( 3 ) Bulletin3 Title
ESC s to save when finished and ESC q to quit, exit to exit Mystic-DOS and then S to check out the new bulletin. You can add 0, and 3-9 without issues. Then you need to go to two digit numbers ;)
