• TELNET MUD Games

I was attempting to connect to some available mud games available via telnet, which seems to work execpt there is no local echo for what I type. Is there a parameter I may be missing to enable this?

...there is no local echo for what I type.

If your terminal program supports it, try setting ECHO to LOCAL, however, for Telnet, I would think that shouldn't even be an issue.

If these are all from the same BBS, try some others and see what happens. Maybe the problem's at their end.

I'm using SyncTERM. But I am taking about the mystic bbs feature to connect via telnet to a remote destination which doesnt' appear to be doing a local echo.

Mystic won't. I was in the process of trying to create an MPY that would telgate out to MUDs for DoorParty, which uses Mystic, and was having a difficult time when I remembered that Synchronet has a mudgate.js that handles all that, so I just set the MUDs up in Synchronet and telnet out to that with Mystic so Synch handles all of the echoing and whatnot. An extra step, but works fine.

Damn, ok that sounds like a complex setup but I'm interested in this MPY idea, I know python pretty well so maybe I can make that work -- If I do, I'll release it :)

Ok got a couple of MUDs up and running using a mpy script. I'm considering this alpha and needs more testing but it is "working" if you want to check it out on my bbs (bbs.sdf1.net:5023) The two muds I have setup is AwkaeMUD and Abandoned Realms for now.
